Recipe: Berry Banana Smoothie

Making a great-tasting smoothie comes down to the right ingredient combination. And a nourishing, blood-sugar-stabilizing smoothie comes down to the right proportions of ingredients. Our berry banana smoothie is the perfect match of each of these aspects, thanks to the fruits and veggie we’ve selected! Spinach adds volume and fiber, which help with satiety, as well as micronutrients like vitamin A, vitamin C, folate, iron, and magnesium. Berries and bananas add sweetness and a bit more fiber. Berries, specifically, are a high-fiber fruit and are packed with antioxidant nutrients, such as anthocyanins (which provide the blue pigment and have anti-inflammatory benefits). Flaxseeds also bring the power of plants, rich in fiber and omega-3 fatty acids. Protein powder rounds things out for blood sugar balance and helps keep hunger at bay.
A smoothie that lacks enough protein and has too much fruit or juice misses the mark. Whether you choose this smoothie for a quick meal or a balanced snack, you can feel confident that it’s as healthy as it is delicious!
