Recipe: Blueberry Lemon Fizz (Mocktail)
After a holiday season filled with parties and celebrations, many look for ways to incorporate healthier habits during January, including limiting alcohol. In fact, around 35% of adults over the age of twenty-one chose to participate in Dry January in 2022.1 Whether you are rethinking your relationship with alcohol or choosing to cut back for other reasons, replacing alcoholic beverages with other fun libations may positively impact sleep, blood sugar, blood pressure, and digestive health.2
This Blueberry Lemon Fizz is packed with flavor and even some antioxidants thanks to the rich blue color of the blueberries. Additionally, unlike alcoholic beverages that can quickly lead to dehydration, this easy mocktail can quench thirst and promote adequate hydration status due to the base liquid – sparkling water! Many mocktails call for simple syrup made on the stovetop. Instead, this recipe uses warm lemon juice, a sugar source, and blueberries to skip this step – saving time and dishes!
