Kristen is a Licensed and Registered Dietitian/Nutritionist working with patients and corporate wellness clients in the Wilmington area and online via telehealth. In her role as Nutrition Coordinator, she serves as a coach and mentor for the dietitians on the Summerfield team, creates resources and program materials, leads group classes, and enjoys supporting her clients in creating their own custom plan for wellness while staying informed about emerging research in the field of nutrition.
After earning her bachelor’s degree from the College of St. Benedict in Minnesota, Kristen completed her dietetic internship through Iowa State University, where she had rotations at various branches of Mercy Medical Center and throughout neighboring communities.
Since starting her dietetics career in 2010, Kristen has worked in a variety of nutrition and wellness settings to expand her skillset by offering educational workshops, hosting cooking classes, and providing individual nutrition counseling. In recent years, her passion has evolved into a comprehensive approach to wellness through the lens of functional and integrative nutrition. Kristen’s greatest skills do not lie in a single aspect of nutrition, as she’s worked closely with a vast array of diagnoses, but rather in connecting with people in an authentic way and empowering them to pursue their unique vision of optimal health.
Kristen’s goal is to make healthy eating and healthy living approachable and sustainable for everyone. She loves finding solutions or hacks to everyday food or nutrition challenges and thoroughly enjoys any excuse to be creative in the kitchen.
