Kristen Decker is a Licensed and Registered Dietitian/Nutritionist, based in Wilmington, NC. She works with patients and corporate wellness clients online via telehealth.
In her role as Assistant Director of Nutrition, she supports employees through education, coaching, and disease-state management for patients to ensure our patients receive a consistent and positive experience. Kristen also develops recipes and writes articles for the blog, creates program materials, leads group classes, and supports her patients in creating their custom plan for wellness, while staying informed about emerging research in the field of nutrition.
Since starting her dietetics career in 2010, Kristen has worked in various nutrition and wellness settings to expand her skillset by offering educational workshops, hosting cooking classes, and providing individual nutrition counseling. Her passion for a comprehensive approach to wellness through the lens of functional and integrative nutrition brought her to Summerfield in 2020. Her areas of special interest and advanced knowledge include blood sugar management, post-bariatric surgery, disordered eating, eating disorders, perimenopause, and menopause.
Kristen’s greatest skills do not lie in a single area of nutrition, as she’s worked closely with a vast array of diagnoses, but rather in connecting with people in an authentic way and empowering them to pursue their unique vision of optimal health. Her goal is to make healthy eating and healthy living approachable and sustainable for everyone. She loves finding solutions to everyday food or nutrition challenges and thoroughly enjoys any excuse to be creative in the kitchen.
