Carrie OKelley, RD
Carrie O’Kelley is a Registered Dietitian whose specialized areas include nutrition for disease prevention, weight management, improving overall health, and performance. She works with patients in the Wilmington area.
With an extensive clinical background, Carrie has helped people with a variety of illnesses learn how to use food to control disease symptoms and to improve quality of life. Carrie is personally invested in each client’s success. She provides individualized recommendations, education, and encouragement to support each client to achievable personal goals. Carrie works with others to develop lifestyle changes and emphasizes that quick fixes are not sustainable. Observing a client’s confidence soar while realizing their goals is what Carrie cherishes as a dietitian.
For as long as she can remember, Carrie has loved everything about nutrition. She enjoyed cooking alongside her mother as a child and became interested in the science of nutrition when the Nutrition Facts label was created in the 1990’s. Her sixth grade science fair project was even about nutrition! After earning a mathematics degree and working in Corporate America for 5 years, Carrie decided to pursue her lifelong passion. She graduated from The University of Alabama with a degree in nutrition and completed her Dietetic Internship at New Hanover Regional Medical Center and throughout the Wilmington community.
Carrie is originally from Pittsburgh, PA and moved to Wilmington in 2010. She has lived in Memphis, TN and Queensland, Australia. Carrie loves traveling, supporting rescue animals, kayaking, and enjoying dinners around an inviting dining room table.
Carrie’s Nutrition Philosophy: “Every time you eat or drink, you are either feeding disease or fighting it.”
