Alex Cauley is a Licensed and Registered Dietitian/Nutritionist working with patients online via telehealth and corporate wellness clients in the Raleigh-Durham area.
After completing her bachelor’s degree from North Carolina State University in Raleigh, Alex then attended Meredith College to complete her Masters of Nutrition degree. During this time, she worked on the culinary team at an outpatient eating disorder treatment facility, spending time with patients in the kitchen preparing new foods and supporting meal and nutrition experiences. She spent her dietetic internship at Massachusetts General Hospital (MGH in Boston, MA. Alex completed rotations within acute and critical care units within the hospital and community programs such as WIC and local food banks and outpatient counseling services. For her specialized, concentrated practice area, Alex spent 15 weeks in independent corporate wellness practice working individually with both employees of MGH and a local NC-based business, while providing group sessions and webinars for those populations.
Alex has always had a passion for food and grew up constantly baking with her grandparents and preparing meals for her family and friends from a young age. In college, she decided to combine her love for food, health and wellness, and science to dedicate her time to becoming a dietitian. Alex’s personal experience with numerous food allergies and GI difficulties inspires her to help others who experience similar symptoms and frustrations. She is a certified personal trainer and group fitness instructor. She has always had a passion for empowering others to appreciate what their bodies can do and embrace how strong we feel when properly nourished.
As a dietitian, Alex’s goal is to help her patients find joy in food again. She is a firm believer in promoting a balanced lifestyle that allows others to reach their health goals in a healthy, sustainable, and enjoyable way. She prides herself in taking the time to really understand each patient’s needs, lifestyle, and hurdles so that they can discover individualized strategies and solutions. Alex’s favorite part about being a Registered Dietitian is seeing her patient’s confidence grow and their relationship with food improve while working together toward their health goals.
