Julie Gwinn is a Licensed and Registered Dietitian/Nutritionist working with patients online via telehealth.
Originally from Maine, Julie attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill for both her bachelor’s degree in Exercise and Sport Science and her Master of Public Health. While working on her master’s degree, Julie completed her dietetic internship rotations at the Robeson County Health Department, Central Regional Hospital, Duke University Dining, and Summerfield Custom Wellness. In addition to her dietetic internships, Julie has experience with youth-focused nutrition education and cooking classes, as well as the retail side of food, through various part-time jobs in grocery stores.
Julie first became interested in nutrition when she saw through personal experience the effects food can have on all aspects of the body and the difference, including nourishing, enjoyable food can make with physical and mental health. When first thinking of careers, Julie originally planned to become a flight attendant to combine her interests with travel and interacting with others. Years later, she realized that she could combine her passion for people with that of food into a career as a Registered Dietitian!
Julie strives to support her patients in uncovering what aspects of health and nutrition are most important to them and working towards a realistic plan that best fits their lives. Julie enjoys the variety of working with patients in many areas of nutrition and specializes in supporting healthy relationships with food, fertility, and pregnancy.
