Licensed Dietitian/Nutritionist
Julie Gwinn, MPH, RD, LDN is a Licensed and Registered Dietitian/Nutritionist who provides individualized nutrition counseling online via telehealth. She specializes in women’s health, including fertility, pregnancy, and postpartum care, as well as hormonal conditions such as PCOS and endometriosis. Julie also supports patients in building a balanced and positive relationship with food throughout all stages of life.
Originally from Maine, Julie earned both her Bachelor’s of Science in Exercise and Sport Science and her Master of Public Health from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. While completing her master’s, she gained clinical and community experience through dietetic internship rotations at the Robeson County Health Department, Central Regional Hospital, Duke University Dining, and Summerfield Custom Wellness. Julie’s background also includes teaching youth-focused nutrition education and cooking classes, as well as experience in the retail food industry, giving her a broad understanding of nutrition in everyday life.
At Summerfield Custom Wellness, Julie has continued to grow her skills and knowledge as a RD with over half a decade of experience, appreciating the collaboration with teammates and chance for ongoing education. Julie first became interested in nutrition when she experienced firsthand the effects that food can have on all aspects of the body and the difference that nourishing, enjoyable food can make on physical and mental health.
Julie’s approach is rooted in compassion and empowerment. She strives to meet each patient where they are—helping them set realistic goals that align with their lifestyle while easing the stress often associated with health changes. As a new mom herself, Julie understands the importance of balancing wellness with life’s demands. She is dedicated to helping patients make meaningful progress toward their goals and feel supported every step of the way.
