Jennifer Johnson is a Licensed and Registered Dietitian/Nutritionist working with patients online via telehealth. She earned her Integrative and Functional Nutrition Certified Practitioner (IFNCP) credential after completing extensive training through the Integrative and Functional Nutrition Academy.
A native North Carolinian, Jennifer obtained her bachelor’s degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. After deciding to pursue a second career, she completed her master’s degree at Meredith College. Through her dietetic internship with North Carolina Central University, she worked with two nutrition counseling practices and the Interfaith Food Shuttle and Central Regional Hospital. Jennifer was hired as a clinical dietitian at Central Regional Hospital, where she created and taught a 12-week nutrition education and cooking program in addition to providing medical nutrition therapy for her units.
Several years ago, Jennifer suffered from a debilitating chronic illness that greatly impacted her day-to-day life. Through functional and integrative nutrition, she restored her health, quality of life, and mobility. This inspired her to pursue a career as a dietitian to empower others with the knowledge and tools to promote their own positive health outcomes.
Using an individualized functional and integrative approach, Jennifer helps clients make sustainable changes that address the root cause of their condition. With a background in teaching, she enjoys breaking down health information into digestible bites that make sense and apply to the client’s needs. While she enjoys working in many areas of nutrition, she is particularly interested in gastrointestinal health, food allergies and sensitivities, Celiac disease, autoimmune conditions, and regulating blood sugar.
