Dana is a Registered Dietitian with over 10 years of experience working as a nutrition counselor and specializing in weight management. She works with patients throughout the Wilmington area.
Dana is passionate about helping her clients turn their frustrations into action for change. She enjoys empowering her patients to develop the skills to take back their health and manage a healthy weight. Her counseling style has been molded by her background in mindfulness training, health coaching, and behavior change.
Dana received her Bachelor of Science in Nutrition from the University of North Florida and completed her dietetic internship through Mount Auburn Hospital in Cambridge, Massachusetts. She has experience as a hospital dietitian, nutrition counselor, health coach, speaker, and support group facilitator up and down the East Coast. Most recently Dana served as a bariatric dietitian at Rex Surgical Specialists in Raleigh, NC. Her specialties include weight management, emotional and stress eating, diabetes management, weight regain after bariatric surgery, cardiovascular health, and general wellness. Dana especially enjoys working with individuals prior to and following bariatric surgery.
Dana finds great reward in helping her clients transform their lifestyles for both themselves and their families. She enjoys teaching interactive nutrition classes, leading cooking classes, debunking myths, and making healthy living simple. She provides her clients with opportunities to practice and perfect new skills to create a healthy relationship with food. Off the clock, she loves spending time outdoors hiking, riding bikes, and being on the water with her husband and her pitbull mix.
