Carlee is a Licensed and Registered Dietitian/Nutritionist working with patients and corporate wellness clients in the Charlotte, NC area and online via telehealth. As a dietitian at Summerfield Custom Wellness, she has the privilege of facilitating wellness programming and creating customized health plans for each patient she meets.
Born and raised in Atlanta, Carlee attended the University of Georgia in Athens, Georgia, to obtain her bachelor’s degree in Dietetics. She completed her Dietetic Internship while earning her master’s degree in Nutrition Science from the University of Alabama at Birmingham. During her time in Birmingham, Carlee completed rotations at Magnolia Creek Eating Disorder Facility, UAB Eat Right Clinic, and UAB Hospital, where she specialized in oncology nutrition.
Her fascination with food as a healing agent began with her own journey through unknown food allergies and intolerances. After struggling with digestive discomfort and skin rashes for almost a year, Carlee finally got answers to her symptoms with a dietitian’s expertise and food allergy testing. This experience inspired Carlee to also become a Registered Dietitian so she can be part of helping solve others’ health puzzles. She brought this patient-centered, problem-solving mindset into her previous bariatric support and private practice roles.
Carlee’s goal for each patient is to leave sessions feeling empowered and encouraged. She enjoys making genuine connections with patients and feels strongly that her role as a dietitian is also that of a trusted counselor. Though she works with a variety of patients, her main areas of expertise include weight loss and weight management, food allergies and intolerances, and gut health. She also loves working with adolescents on improving body image and relationship with food.
