Aubrey Stephenson is a Registered Dietitian, servicing patients in the Raleigh and Wake Forest areas. She moved to Raleigh from Northern Virginia to join the Summerfield team. Aubrey attended Virginia Tech for her Bachelor of Science in Human Nutrition, Foods and Exercise; Master of Public Health, and Dietetic Internship.
Aubrey became an RD because of her passion for empowering people to improve their nutrition, health and wellbeing. She loves working with people to help them find the optimal nutrition plan that works best for them. She has a strong interest in nutrition for weight loss and management, chronic illness, obtaining exercise goals, and general wellbeing. Her approach focuses on making sustainable changes over time to build realistic nutrition habits that can last forever. Aubrey believes that practicing intuitive eating techniques enable us to trust our bodies, which in turn can help us make changes to our diet.
Aubrey also has a background in fitness and wellness programming. For the past five years she has been a group fitness instructor, leading classes in various formats including spinning, weightlifting and high intensity interval training. She has spent time developing and implementing wellness programming including cooking classes, happiness groups, and general wellbeing presentations. Her combination of experiences in fitness and wellness have provided her the knowledge and skills necessary for helping individuals to meet their nutrition and health goals.
In her spare time, Aubrey enjoys practicing yoga, reading, spending time with family and friends, and being outdoors—whether it is at the beach or somewhere in the mountains.
Aubrey’s nutrition philosophy: Individualized nutrition is the most effective way to reach nutrition and health goals in a healthy, sustainable way.
