Amanda is a Licensed and Registered Dietitian/Nutritionist working with clients online via telehealth. She has 15 years of experience in the field working as a hospital dietitian, bariatric program dietitian, outpatient diabetes educator, and as a health coach in corporate wellness.
Amanda received her Bachelor of Science in Physical Education, Health, and Sports Studies from Miami University in Oxford, OH, and completed her Master’s degree in Nutrition at Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, OH. While at Case, she also completed her dietetic internship rotations at University Hospitals Cleveland Medical Center.
As a lover of school, learning, and food, the field of dietetics was a natural fit. Amanda enjoys staying on top of nutrition research and sharing that with people in a way that makes sense. Her education led to a special interest in nutrition and physical activity for healthy aging and has applied that interest to each of her roles and in her career as well as to her personal health journey.
Before Summerfield, Amanda worked at an accredited American Diabetes Association education center and a bariatric surgery center. Her passion is helping clients find a low-stress approach to food and nutrition that leaves them feeling empowered by their eating habits, not confused. As a full-time working mom, Amanda knows that a good nutrition plan must be one that fits into each individual’s lifestyle and unique situation. She loves helping people discover how their favorite foods can fit as part of a balanced lifestyle. Amanda’s favorite part about being a dietitian is working with clients who are pursuing weight loss surgery by helping their confidence in their overall health and wellness soar while looking beyond just a number on the scale.
