Lead Registered Dietitian
Alex Cauley, MS, RD, LDN, CPT, is a Licensed and Registered Dietitian/Nutritionist who provides individualized nutrition counseling online via telehealth. Alex’s areas of expertise include supporting individuals with their relationships with food, disordered eating, and gut health. She is passionate about women’s health and hormones, helping patients navigate PCOS, fertility, perimenopause, and menopause.
As a Lead Dietitian with the company, Alex spends the majority of her time with patients, but has also expanded her role to include serving as a lead presenter for patient programs and worksite classes. She is responsible for aiding in the development of patient-facing education and for furthering the team’s knowledge base by conducting continuing education meetings.
Alex earned her Bachelor’s of Science degree from North Carolina State University and went on to complete her Master’s in Nutrition at Meredith College. During her graduate training, she worked on the culinary team at an outpatient eating disorder treatment facility, where she supported patients hands-on in the kitchen—preparing foods, building confidence, and fostering positive meal experiences. She completed her dietetic internship at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston, with rotations across acute and critical care units as well as community programs, including WIC, local food banks, and outpatient counseling services. She is also a Certified Personal Trainer, allowing her to integrate movement and nutrition in a practical, sustainable way.
Alex began her career as a dietitian at Summerfield, where she credits the collaborative team environment, mentorship, and ongoing education opportunities for shaping her growth and confidence as a clinician. She is especially passionate about helping individuals better understand how food works in the body, how to fuel movement and performance, and how to build a healthier, more flexible relationship with food. Her interest in nutrition was shaped early on by growing up with food allergies, a love of exercise, and the example set by her grandmother, who modeled joy and connection around home-cooked meals.
Alex believes nutrition should enhance life, not limit it. Her approach is rooted in balance, non-restrictive eating, and respect for each person’s individual goals and values. She strives to create a supportive, patient-centered environment where food can be both nourishing and enjoyable, and where evidence-based guidance empowers patients to make confident, sustainable choices.
