Licensed Dietitian/Nutritionist
Abigail Klinker is a Licensed and Registered Dietitian based in Charlotte, NC. She works with patients and corporate wellness clients online via telehealth.
Abigail completed her bachelor’s degrees in nutrition and statistics from Miami University (OH) before attending the University of Georgia for her master’s and dietetic internship with a concentration in Nutrition for Sports and Exercise. Abigail then merged her love for numbers and nutrition by working in academic research on studies assessing statewide food assistance programs in Georgia and measuring the impact of dietary interventions on older adults. Abigail transitioned to telehealth nutrition counseling, focusing on food-insecure populations prior to joining Summerfield. Her previous roles taught her about food systems and the many factors that impact how food gets on the table.
Personally, Abigail loves to travel. She worked abroad in China doing nutrition counseling for sub-elite athletes, in Turkey as an au pair, and traveled full-time before landing in North Carolina. Abigail enjoys spending free time moving her body by hiking, kickboxing, and learning how to do a handstand. She loves that food is an integral part of many aspects of life and enjoys exploring its role in culture, celebration, fueling athletic performance, and improving health outcomes with patients. She strives to take a holistic approach to nutrition that accounts for patients’ resources and lifestyles to make feasible, sustainable changes.
Abigail aims to be a welcoming and accepting provider by taking the time to explore each patient’s needs and working alongside them to find individualized solutions. With a research background, she is passionate about supporting patients in making evidence-based decisions toward their goals while keeping food fun. She loves cheering on patients and seeing their hard work have tangible outcomes.
