April 1 is like New Year’s Day revisited for dietitians. Come what may, every April brings an onslaught of people…
Maria Haisley, RD
Maria Haisley is a Registered Dietitian with 8 years of experience in working with individuals to meet their unique health goals. Her specialties include weight management, women’s health, digestive health, vegan/vegetarian diets, cardiovascular health, and diabetes education. She enjoys teaching group classes, doing cooking demos, and providing hands-on learning at grocery stores. Before moving to Wilmington with her husband and son 3 years ago she worked as a supermarket dietitian incorporating a wellness program into the community.
Maria graduated from Purdue University with a Bachelor’s degree in Dietetics and continued with Purdue University for her dietetic internship. Outside of work she enjoys being active, gardening, going to farmers markets, drinking green smoothies, and cooking for her family and friends. Her approach with those she works with is a combination of her years of education and her personal journey and struggles with food over the years. Her favorite thing about being a dietitian is that she gets to share with others her passion for food and health. “I get to teach people how eating GREEN is the new BLACK.”
Maria’s Nutrition Philosophy: Eat foods that serve you; foods that make you feel vibrant, energetic and beautiful from the inside out. Finding harmony with the foods you eat is a powerful way to nourish your mind, body and soul. We all have our own personal journey with food, I am here to walk that journey beside you!
